Lemon Cheesecake Stuffed French Toast Bake

Can I just say how much I love the flavor of lemons! I think I’ve been driving my daughter nuts with all my lemon talk. I’m sure in the next couple of weeks I’ll be making something else with lemons. If I could grow lemon trees where I live, I would!!
Try this delicious recipe, your gonna love it! Don’t forget to make the lemon syrup to drizzle over the french toast! It’s super easy to make and so worth it.
Lemon Cheesecake Stuffed French Toast Bake
Ingredients:
1 loaf of Texas toast
8 ounces of cream cheese
1 cup of powder sugar
3 Tbl spoon of fresh squeeze lemon juice
2 tsp lemon zest
Instructions:
1. Generously butter or coat with cooking
spray a large bread pan. Set slices of bread
pan.
2. In a large bowl beat together softened
cream cheese, powder sugar, lemon juice,
and 2 tsp of lemon zest until smooth.
Spoon dollops of cream cheese mixture in
between the slices of bread.
3. Preheat oven to 350 degrees,
Bake for 50 to 60 minutes or until the center
is done and the surface is golden brown.
If the bread is browning to quickly, lay a
sheet of foil over the top.
4. While the french toast is baking, start
making the lemon syrup. This recipe is
so easy and is so worth it. It is so good!
Lemon Syrup
Ingredients:
1. 1 cube of butter
2. 1 1/4 cup white sugar
3. 3 Tbl Karo syrup
4. 1/2 cup whole milk
5. 1/2 cup fresh squeezed lemon juice
6. Zest of 1 lemon or 2Tbl spoon
7. 1/2 tsp baking soda
Instructions:
1. In a pan over medium heat add butter,
sugar karoo syrup, milk, lemon juice,
and the lemon zest. Stir continually until it
starts to boil.
Add baking soda and continue to cook for
1 minute over low heat.
2. Remove from heat and serve over lemon
cheesecake stuffed french toast bake.
