Apple Craisin Sweet Rolls with Cream Cheese Frosting
My son was in the kitchen again! With the help of his girlfriend, Lexie, they came up with this red and green festive recipe! Apple Craisin Sweet Rolls! Lexie is allergic to cinnamon, so these sweet rolls were just the ticket! They turned out so delicious! We all loved them!
Ingredients:
2 cups of milk
2 Tbl spoon of yeast
1/4c of sugar
2 tsp salt
5-5 1/2 cups of flour
1/3 cup of butter
1 egg
Filling:
1/2 cup of butter
1/2 cup of brown sugar
1 apple
1/2 cup of craisins
Cream cheese frosting:
8 ounces of softened cream cheese
4 Tbl spoon of butter
2 cups of powder sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1st step:
2 Cups of milk
2Tbl yeast
1/4 cup of granulated sugar
Warm your milk in a microwave. Just until it’s luke warm. I like to use milk for my sweet rolls. I find it makes them so tender and soft. Then add your 1/4 cup of sugar and yeast. Stir it all together. Then let it set until the yeast has double in size. About 5 minutes.
2nd step:
In your kitchen aid bowl with dough hook
3 cups of flour
1 egg
2 tsp salt
1/3 cup of softened butter
Mix on low until it’s all incorporated,
Slowly add a 1/2 cup of flour at a time until all
5 1/2 cups are incorporated and the dough pulls away from the bowl and forms a soft ball.
3rd step:
Pull out the dough hook and place a kitchen towel over the bowl and let it set for 1 hour, until it has doubled in size.
4th step:
Roll out until the dough is 1 inch thick
Spread your butter
Then add your brown sugar, cut apple in small bites and craisins.
Roll it up into a jelly roll and cut it in 3 inch rolls.
Put rolls on a greased cookie sheet. Place your kitchen towel back over the cookie sheet and let rise for 1/2 an hour.
Bake: 350 for 20 minuets.
Let them set for 10 minuets and then frost them with cream cheese frosting.
These Apple Craisin Sweet Rolls are so festive, they are sure to please, enjoy!
